Jiujiang Vocational College of Finance and Economics is a state-operated full-time college, founded in 1960. It is a college of higher learning for training senior technicians, administrative officials and other senior personnel. It has a beautiful campus, a large component of highly qualified teachers, and a more-than-adequate provision of high quality teaching facilities.
The Main Campus currently has a staff of 536 members. The staff includes over 167 teachers who hold PhDs or master degrees. The main campus also recruits foreign teachers year round, and currently has over 10,500 students whose average age is about 20. Its campus covers an area of 516 Mu, the total space of its buildings is 310,110 square meters, and the total value of instruments and equipment is about 56,520,000 RMB Yuan.
It provides excellent conditions for both teaching and research with well equipped Physics and Chemistry Laboratories, Computer Center, Information Center, Foreign Language Broadcasting Station and Foreign Experts Guesthouse. At present, the Main Campus consists of 7 departments (Accounting I, Accounting II, Financial Tax & Finance, Financial Economics, Applied Foreign Language, Economy and management and Computer Science) , Basic & Social Science Department and International Education Center with a total of 49 specialties.
Jiujiang Vocational College of Finance and Economics attaches great importance to international cooperation and exchange. The main campus has been actively developing its international education and culture exchange program, enrolling foreign students, establishing long-term cooperative relationships with the universities in Australia, U.S.A, and other countries.

※ Introduction of Jiujiang City
Jiujiang City is located in the northern Jiangxi Province, on the southern bank of the juncture of the lower and middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is situated at the juncture of Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan and Anhui Provinces, and in the middle of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway. The city is one of the centers of transportation inChina with a population of 0.5 million.
Jiujiang has many scenic spots with distinctive characteristics due to its long civilized history and beautiful, special and rugged natural sites. A tourism system in northern Jiangxi consisting of a famous mountain Lushan, a famous cave (Dragon Palace Cave), a famous river (Yangtze River), a famous lake (Poyang Lake), a famous academy (White Deer Academy founded by Zhu Xi which was one of the four biggest ones in ancient China) and famous temples (Donglin Temple, Zhenru Monastery) with Lushan Mountain as the center, has been preliminarily formed. As a world cultural site, Lushan Mountain has been entered on the World Cultural Heritage Name list , Lushan is also the most typical, concentrated mountain that preserves the relics from China Quaternary Period Glacier Stage.
※ Foreign Teacher Recruitment
Jiujiang Vocational College of Finance and Economics will employ about 1-3 foreign teachers this year, most of our foreign teachers come from the United States, Canada, Australia, Britain, and other countries speaking English as their native language.
To facilitate the expansion of the University's connections with the global academic and educational community, and to meet the ever-expanding need of our increasing student enrollment, the university is in need of more native English speakers to teach the English language courses.
Service of foreign teachers is based on a working contract. A one-year working contract consists of two semesters. The Spring Semester usually starts in middle February, and ends in early July, the Fall Semester starts at the beginning of September and ends in middle January.
Candidates need to be native English speakers, and preferred main qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree or above
Solid teaching experience
Good interpersonal communication skills
Not older than 60 years with good health.
※ Obligations of foreign teachers:
* While the Foreign Affairs Office holds the day-to-day responsibility for foreign teachers, teaching in the college is under the supervision of the Teaching Affairs Office. Cooperative understanding is expected to enable teaching to be carried out smoothly.
* Give courses of English reading, listening, speaking, and writing, etc
* Deliver lectures to students from various specialties with an average class size of 50 students.
* Normally, the weekly workload is 18 teaching periods (45 minutes), excluding extracurricular activities related to the courses, from Monday through Friday.
* The University provides the textbooks. However, suggestions, advice and recommendations are welcomed to help us find more appropriate textbooks.
* Employ effective teaching methods, in line with the University's teaching goal. If necessary, tailoring the teaching methods according to the particular English level of the students, to fulfill the task.
* Provide a detailed teaching plan and syllabus for the course to achieve the given objectives.
※ Living conditions for foreign teachers:
* Salary for foreign teacher varies depends on their different academic background. Normally 5,000-5,200 RMB Yuan for Bachelor degree holder, 5,500-5,700 Yuan for Master and 6,000-6,200 Yuan for PhD per month. The payment is in RMB, 70% of the salary can be converted into foreign currency.
* The University provides the teacher with an economy class international round-way air ticket upon the completion of the two-term service.
* Rent-free apartment with furniture, bedding, bathroom, television, telephone, refrigerator, washing machine, computer with Internet connection, air-conditioning, DVD player, cleaner, microwave oven, rice cooker etc.
* Medical care is subsidized in accordance with China's medical system.
* In addition to China's holidays, foreign teachers can enjoy two days off for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
* 2200 Yuan traveling allowance annually and 80 Yuan transport allowance per teaching month for one-year service.
